Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our bin cleaning services

Why should I have my bins cleaned?

Wheelie bins quickly build up food waste and organic residue that cause strong odours and create ideal conditions for harmful bacteria to multiply. E. coli, Salmonella, and Listeria thrive in dirty bins. Flies, maggots, and rodents are attracted to the waste, increasing contamination risks. Because bins are handled regularly by your household, this bacteria transfers easily to hands, clothing, and surrounding surfaces. Regular professional cleaning reduces up to 99.9% of these harmful bacteria, keeping your home or workplace cleaner, safer, and more hygienic.

How does the bin cleaning process work?

We clean your bin on your scheduled collection day to ensure convenience and consistency. Our purpose-built vehicles are fitted with hydraulic bin-lifting systems and an onboard wash unit that captures and recycles the wastewater, preventing contamination of the stormwater system.

Our cleaning process:

- Your bin is mechanically lifted and thoroughly pressure-washed, inside and out.

- The wash water passes through a multi-stage filtration system, using 900, 600, and 300 micron mesh screen filters to remove debris and contaminants before being reused.

- Active bacteria-based cleaning agents are applied to break down organic waste and eliminate harmful bacteria.

- Odours are neutralised at the source, not masked.

- All cleaning products are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and approved as safe for families, pets, and the environment.

- Your bin is returned to your pickup location clean, fresh, and ready for use

Smart Hygiene, Done Properly

Our process uses beneficial active bacteria to over time eliminating up to 99.9% of common harmful bacteria, delivering effective hygiene without harsh chemicals or high-temperature water.

What makes your cleaning method different?

Unlike traditional bin washing that uses harsh chemicals or hot water, we use an environmentally responsible biological treatment. Our beneficial bacteria solution doesn't just clean the surface. It continues to actively break down organic material inside your bin for days after we leave. This means longer lasting freshness, fewer odours between cleans, and a genuinely hygienic bin rather than one that's just been rinsed out.

How often should I have my bins cleaned?

It depends on your household or business needs. Most residential customers find a monthly clean keeps bins fresh and hygienic. For households with young children, pets, or warmer climates, fortnightly or weekly cleaning may be more suitable. We offer flexible plans so you can choose the frequency that works best for you.

Are your cleaning products safe?

Yes.

Our cleaning solution is certified 100% biodegradable and contains beneficial bacteria rather than harsh chemicals, bleach, or detergents. It is completely safe for children, pets, and the environment. The wastewater is captured and recycled onboard our vehicle.

How does the subscription work?

You choose your plan, select your preferred collection day and time (morning or afternoon), and we take care of the rest. We arrive on your bin day after your bins have been emptied and clean them as part of our regular route.

Subscription plans can be cancelled at any time with 1 month’s notice, with no cancellation fees.

What types of bins do you clean?

All standard council issued wheelie bins including red (general waste), yellow (recycling), green (garden waste), and food waste bins. We also service large bins up to 1100l.

If you have a non standard bin or a multi tenancy property, get in touch and we'll confirm.

Do I need to be home?

No. Just make sure your bins are at the kerb or in an agreed location on collection day. We clean them and return them to your pickup location.

Why is there a bag in my bin after it was cleaned?

Any rubbish found in your bins will be bagged and placed back into your wheelie bin after cleaning.
